Making sense of molecular binding kinetics can be challenging and preparing sophisticated figures is time consuming. We figured an easy-to-use, web-based tool to graph and compare ON- and OFF-rates will be useful.
You are probably familiar with conventional 2D “rate maps”, which contain all kinetic information, but, if not used frequently, are not very intuitive. When analyzing lots of data of multi-specific binders, we came up with a straightforward 1D representation of ON- and OFF-rates, which we termed the “rate scale” plot: Markers are drawn on two independent Y-axes for ON- and OFF-rates, which are stacked on top of each other. Connecting the dots with a vertical line reflects the magnitude of the affinity of the interaction: the longer the vertical line, the higher the affinity.
